Fine Dining Server/Weekend Sommelier 
 
We are looking for a fine dining server, and weekend sommelier to lead our team at The Saint in Dallas, TX!  Just north of Deep Ellum, The Saint promises fresh pasta, dry-aged steaks, and options for vegetarians and vegans. 
 
This Unique role will allow the successful candidate to continue to grow as a fine dining server but also hone their wine service and selling techniques during prime business hours. Well presented and articulate the ideal candidate will be compensated with a competitive hourly rate plus commission on wines sold. The candidate will also be trained to assist the Beverage Manager with ordering, inventory and staff training.

'Important Note - Candidates for this position are required to provide a cover letter detailing how they are qualified to perform the duties of a 'Sommelier.' 
Candidates without a cover note will be considered for a Server Role only.
 

   What we are looking for: 
●        Greet guests with a welcoming smile, be engaging with our guests. 
●        Must be fully knowledgeable of our food & beverage menus, selling techniques and service delivery of all items.  Guide guests with recommendations for any allergy issues and accurately take guests orders. 
●        Evaluate proper identification of guests to insure they are of proper drinking age. 
●        Full working knowledge of our POS system, able to enter guest orders accurately with correct seat numbers, itemize bills correctly and efficiently secure cash and other forms of  payment 
●        Able to assist with food running to bar and dining room tables. 
●        Anticipate the guests’ needs and respond appropriately with a sense of urgency.  Maintain table cleanliness utilizing a silent service approach. 
●        Maintain cleanliness and stock of assigned areas, side stations, tables and Point of Sale (POS) stations. 
●        Communicate with FOH & BOH Management in order to fulfill and address any issues or needs requested by guests. 
●        Update the wine list in coordination with the chefs and the managers when nessesary. 
●        Recommend food and wine pairings; advise guests on wines based on personal tastes. 
●        Manage wine cellar and ensure its fully stocked. 
●        Maintaining the wine stock. 
●        Perform other job-related duties as requested 

 Ideal Candidate: 
●        Must have at least one year of prior fine dining serving experience 
●        Must have a strong passion for food, beverage and service 
●        Knowledgeable of menu items, including characteristics of wine and champagne by the glass, major wines, liquor brands, beer, non-alcoholic beverages, designated glassware, terminology, and garnishes 
●        Candidates must be able to bend and lift to 50 lbs. 
●        Candidates must be at least 21 years old 
●        Must be a team player and have a positive attitude 
●        Candidate must be able to work a flexible schedule, must be able to work weekends, and holidays
